Fried Okra

Ingredients

1 - 1 1/2 lbs Okra
1 cup Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1 Egg
1/4 cup Milk
Vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Cut caps off okra and slice into ~1cm pieces.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
  4. Working in batches, place okra in egg mixture and coat well.
  5. Transfer to flour bowl and coat.
  6. In a large skillet, heat 1/2-1" of vegetable oil on medium heat.
  7. Place okra in oil and cook to golden brown, then flip.
  8. Once both sides are golden, use a slotted spoon to remove and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to dry.
  9. Sprinkle with salt as soon as okra is removed.
